Un écrivain comique canadien combat son cancer incurable par le rire
Irwin Barker, écrivain et comédien comique, apprend en 2007 qu’il est atteint d’un cancer incurable, soit le
léiomyosarcome et qu'il n'a qu'un an à vivre.
Même pendant ses traitements de chimiothérapie, il continue de donner des spectacles. Dans les propres mots d’Irwin:’ Le cancer a mon corps mais pas mon esprit et je vais continuer à faire des plaisanteries, pas trop sur le cancer mais malgré lui’. In Irwin's own words: "Cancer has my body but not my spirit, and I'll continue to make jokes, not so much about cancer, but in spite of it."

L'aérodrome a connu une effervescence inusitée lorsque des comiques parmi les meilleurs au Canada ont présenté un spectacle animé par Shaun Majumder de l'émission « This Hour Has 22 Minutes ». Il était ainsi accompagné de Mark Critch, Irwin Barker, Tim Nutt et Erica Sigurdson, qui ont fait rire aux éclats l'auditoire.
